I had an epiphany the other day. I’m not living my dreams.
I have been living life in the slow lane. I have been trudging along, not really doing anything, not really living. Oh I have dreams and they’re so big that I can’t keep them to myself. I tell everyone that I can, what I want to do with my life. But I never really do anything about it. I always seem to put things off. I always have an excuse. ‘I’m too tired.’ ‘I have too much other work to do.’ ‘I need a break.’ ‘I want to play games or watch T.V.’
I want to be a writer.
I want to be published.
I want to inspire people.
I want to be someone’s role model.
I’ve been listening to a lot of motivational speeches lately. And so many quotes stuck with me.
One of my favourites.
“When you want succeed as much as you want to breathe, then you will be successful.”
What I believe though, is that to be successful, you need to start with the small things.
Wake up every morning and find things to be grateful for.
That’s what I do. I wake up every morning grateful that I have a roof over my head, and food on my plate.
Start with the small things. Build yourself up. Become a better version of yourself. Live your dream.
Don’t let fear get the better of you.
Don’t let anyone bring you down.
Surround yourself with successful people who will motivate you.
BUT… Before everything else, before anyone else believes in you, YOU must believe in yourself.
Look in the mirror every morning and tell yourself you can do it. And then go and do it!
I’m starting small.
Because my dreams are everything and I WILL fulfill them.
